She also serves in legislative and advocacy roles that support and advance the dental hygiene profession. As a trainer with the Swiss Dental Academy, Paula works with dental teams nationwide to implement Guided Biofilm Therapy using the AirFlow Prophylaxis Master, emphasizing clinical excellence, patient comfort, and predictable outcomes. Pam has an impressive and progressive career in dentistry, spanning over four decades. She began her journey in the field as a dental assistant at the age of 16, a role she held for 16 years. In 2001, she became a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH). Her commitment to advanced preventative care led her to become licensed as an independent dental hygienist (IPDH) in Maine in 2010. This allowed her to practice in both private settings and her own solo preventive practice. In 2021, Pam established the Searsmont Oral Wellness Center, where she champions her unique approach to optimal preventative care. Her practice has flourished by incorporating cutting-edge technologies like microscopy, laser therapies, salivary diagnostics, and the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) compass. During her career Sally has taught undergraduates and worked as a staff member at King’s College London and the University of Manchester. Over the past 25 years she has worked in NHS Community Clinics, General and Specialist Implant and Periodontal Practices. Sally is past president of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT) and is Chair of the BSDHT North West Regional Group.
