Karine earned her Dental Hygiene Diploma in 2010. After practicing in Switzerland for a year, she returned to settle in Estrie, where she grew up. Jovial and enthusiastic, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and learning to develop her skills. Passionate about her profession, she focuses on gentle and non-invasive treatments, which is how she discovered the Guided Biofilm Therapy Protocol. After four years of practice with the Airflow Prophylaxis Master, she can no longer do without it. Now a trainer for the Swiss Dental Academy for over two years, Karine can share her passion for dental health and her growing love for GBT with other colleagues.

My work with EMS and Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) has reignited my passion for educating others and deepened my commitment to clinical excellence. I am driven by a love for continuous learning and strive to inspire fellow clinicians while advocating for innovative approaches to dental care.

Tayyaba Fiaz

ayyaba Fiaz is a highly accomplished dental hygienist and community leader. A 2008 graduate of Cégep John Abbott College, she earned the Procter & Gamble Community Dental Hygiene Award and Excellence in Restorative Dentistry Award. Tayyaba also holds a B.Sc. degree and has extensive experience as an RDH in Ontario and Quebec.
She currently works as a clinician and hygiene coordinator in a general dental practice, leading a team of eight RDHs. As a pioneer in technology, she introduced Airflow Master Prophylaxis and Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) at her clinic, improving appointment efficiency and patient satisfaction. In addition, she owns a mobile dental hygiene practice, launched in 2021, offering personalized care directly to clients.
Tayyaba’s commitment to community care is evident in her organization of large-scale dental outreach clinics across Quebec, with over 55 volunteers. These initiatives have garnered significant media attention. She also serves as an elected Director for the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association (CDHA) and a representative for the International Federation of Dental Hygienists (IFDH). Tayyaba is an instructor at Oulton College's Faculty of Dental Hygiene.
Outside her professional responsibilities, Tayyaba enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, and taking long walks on sunny days.

Lisa Yao

Lisa Yao completed her Dental Hygiene Diploma in 2012 and a Bachelor of Science Specializing in Dental Hygiene Degree from the University of Alberta in 2016, while working full time!
Lisa has been a Dental Hygienist for over 12 years! Over the years, she has had additional training in periodontics, diode laser, and Guided Biofilm Therapy, completing her GBT Certification in 2022. Lisa enjoys serving the community and sharing her passion for dentistry while providing each patient with the utmost evidence-based care. Her priority is to provide high-quality dental care in a safe and comfortable environment, educating patients on how good oral hygiene is a significant part of their overall health
